Infants and toddlers need a lot of love and attention.  It takes special people who are nurturing and patient to care for these little ones.  At Footprints Family Childcare, babies are looked after with the utmost quality care.  We make it a point to make sure that their unique and individual needs are always met.

  

Sign Language

   Infants and toddlers in our care learn the basic American sign language.  Sign language is extremely beneficial to infants and toddlers because it helps them communicate their needs and/or wants even prior to being able to speak.  Sign language also virtually eliminates tantrums because their needs and wants are met, so the babies are happier.  Sign language also helps to expand their vocabulary.  Contrary to the misconception, sign language does not discourage infants from talking.  In fact, it enhances their speech development.

Story & Music Time

   Spending time singing and reading to infants is a great way to bond with them.  At Footprints Family Childcare, we make it a point to sing songs, and read to our babies.  It also helps calm fussy babies.  

Play Time

   Infants and toddlers need plenty of play time.  We make it a point to provide play time WITH them, as well as allowing them to play on their own.  Since they learn through play, we provide toys that enhance learning.  We make sure that our toys are clean & sanitized especially because infants and toddlers love to put toys in their mouths.  Infants and toddlers also spend time playing outside.  Our spacious and clean backyard makes it fun and safe for them to explore and have fun. 

Arts

   Infants and toddlers also engage in art projects. Simple art projects help them develop their fine motor skills, which they will later need for writing, cutting, etc.  Our main focus is the process, not the product. 

Nutrition

   Nutrition is an important part in raising healthy, happy babies.  Nutrients found in healthy food help babies brains and bodies develop.  Our home-cooked meals are not only delicious, but also very nutritious.
